Simmental animals are among the cattle breeds that are sought after for fattening. The daily live weight gain of Simmental calves taken for fattening is approximately 1100 to 1300 grams. It is also preferred due to its adaptation to the climate and environmental conditions of our country. Simmental animals are good in terms of meat yield. Meat yield is around % 60 – 62.
If Simmental cows are examined in terms of milk production, the lactation period is 300 days. The average cow's milk yield during a lactation period under the care conditions of our country is 6,000 kg. The fat rate in milk is around % 3.5 – 4. (It may vary depending on nutrition.) First calving age is 30 months.
They adapt very well to the environmental and climatic conditions of our country. They are more resistant to diseases than other breeds. It can be grown in all our regions.
